Triton Venom Wrestling

It's been a grind already for this wrestling season on both the coaches and wrestlers at the high school and youth levels.  With that in mind we have had a great last few months of wrestling.  Our youth wrestling tournaments went off with out a hitch.  We added a youth team tournament that went great and all of the Triton you wrestlers wrestled tough during both tournaments.

This past Saturday the varsity team competed at the Kenyon Individual Tournament.  We had several highlights of the day but none bigger than Patrick earning the MOW award for his first place finish at 120.  On his way to the title he defeated the #1 seed and #2 seed in the tournament!

We had several place winners:

Patrick = 1st

Kaleb = 4th

Levi = 5th

Brock = 2nd

Lucas = 4th

JT = 5th

We wrestle KW and PEM this Tuesday then have a break for the holidays.  The guys have been working very hard and I couldn't be happier with the progress we are making!

Update from saturday

Varsity was 2-1 at thge Southland duals, losing to a strong LARP team.  Lots of wrestlers wrestled great during the weekend.  Results of the duals can be found at postbulletin.com.

The JV traveled to Medford, and wrestled very tough.  Lots of wrestles took home 2nd places and 3rd places.  The JV wrestlers have done a great job supporting each other and have been improving a lot every match.  WE have lots of first year wrestlers out this year and we are seeing lots of improvement.

Varsity/JV wrestles this thursday at home against Goodhue.  JV starts at 6:00 followed by the varsity at 7:00.  Come out and support your Cobras 

I have heard lots of good things from the youth wrestling.  They are looking very sharp in their new singlets.  I have just posted some new pictures for the youth team.

Kicked off our First Duals of the Season for the JV and varsity teams

Varsity and JV took on the Kasson-Manotrville Koments and LaCrescent Lancers 

The Varsity won the first dual vs. LaCrescent  59-7

The Varsity  than lost the last dual to Kasson  56-13

Lots of great matches in both duals.  

Congrats to Sam Kispert on his first varsity win against LaCrescent

The JV wrestled tough in both duals only having a few matches against the Kasson and LaCrescent teams

Varsity travels to Southland this Saturday to face Southland, LARP, and St.Clair/Mankato Loyola in a Quad Dual.

JV will be wrestling in a tournament in Medford

Youth Wrestling kick-off went great last thursday Nov. 3rd.  Great thanks goes out to the members of the venom club and the mom's for making it go so smooth.

I will in the next few days be making a documents page on here.  On the page I will try to have all the documents that are handed out to youth and high school wrestlers available on here.  So if your child loses the document you can just come to the website and get another copy.

Hope everyone is getting excited for the wrestling season.  Look for more posts and changes soon

Well wrestling season is beginning to be right around the corner.  So far myself and Coach Vanbeek have met with a clothing dealer and set up a clothing order.  This clothing order will be done completely online, and more information on it will be posted on here along with handed out at the youth wrestling kick-off November 3rd.  There is going to be around 5 items on the clothing order form with lots of them very reasonably priced.

This year with the website myself and Coach Vanbeek will be trying are hardest to update it as much as possible.  So if you have any pictures you would like posted please feel free to e-mail them to me.  My e-mail address is colttullom@gmail.com.  I am going to try to make some changes to the website so that we can showcase our youth and high school wrestling program better, but bare with as the season goes on.

If you happen to be looking to watch some good wrestling here in the the near future there is an open wrestling tournament going on in Rochester October 22nd.  This tournament will showcase \ the best of the best in not just MN but other states.  I know I have read that they have many multiple state champions coming to the tournament from around the United States.

Just wanted to let you all know that a fellow wrestler is in for the fight of his young life right now. 

Chad Lexvold from Kenyon-Wanamingo was in a very serious car accident yesterday morning.  Jake Baalson was killed in the same accident.  Jake and Chad both graduated from Kenyon in 2010.
